Offer a trial period

This guide shows the two ways to give users a free trial period of a MEGOGO subscription.

Before you start

  • A trial period is possible only for the subscriptions and for the time that your contract with MEGOGO sets.
  • Agree on the way of the trial with your MEGOGO manager.

MEGOGO gives you a separate service ID for the trial, for example for 7 or 14 days, without automatic renewal.

  1. When the user starts the trial, send subscribe with the trial service ID.
  2. At the end of the trial, if the user pays, send subscribe with the normal service ID.
  3. If the user does not pay, do nothing: the trial service ends on its end date.

CAUTION

Give the trial to each phone number only as many times as your contract permits. Keep the list of the numbers that had a trial in your system.

Way 2. The first period is free in the reconciliation

You send subscribe with the normal service ID from the start. In the reconciliation, MEGOGO does not count the first agreed period of each new user of your partner ID, for example the first 14 days.

  1. When the user starts the trial, send subscribe with the normal service ID.
  2. If the user does not pay after the trial, send unsubscribe.
